Hops: Rakau | Nelson Sauvin
Style: DDH IPA
East Side is one half of our most recent experiment,
make two beers with exactly the same hopping schedule, one a
DDH IPA the other a West Coast IPA (West Side).
Rakau's complex stonefruit and cannabis character works together with this specific lot of Nelson's tropical fruit, citrus as well as cannabis notes to deliver two similar, but really different beers.
It still blows our minds how these beers that have been hopped EXACTLY the same with the EXACT same lots of hops came out so different. The malt bill and yeast strains played a much bigger role in hop expression than we thought and we're here for it.
