This Cold IPA was brewed in collaboration with our good mate, DJ, from Mountain Culture. When word got out that Sydney’s iconic Chinese seafood restaurant, Golden Century, was closing its doors Jess and I broke down into tears. Fewer places in Sydney have so many great personal memories tied to it. There was an occasion or 2 that Harriet, DJ, Jess and I found ourselves around a table at Golden Century devouring mountains of XO Pippies, Grandma’s Bean Curd and guzzling bottles of Pikes and Jim Barry Riesling. The good old days. So we convinced DJ to make the journey down the hill to Rozelle and put this lil number together. A commemorative and contemplative beer brewed in celebration of the good times at Golden Century. Made with the choicest Mediterranean grown pilsner malt, assertively dry hopped with Riwaka and El Dorado hops and fermented warm with Austrian lager yeast. All the ingredients that give us the warm and fuzzies and remind us of the good times, just like grandma used to make.
