Bentspoke Brewing Co
38 Mort St, Braddon, Canberra
https://www.bentspokebrewing.com.au/
BentSpoke Brewing Co is the brainchild of Champion Australian brewer Richard Watkins and Tracy Margrain. The pair travelled the world drawing inspiration for their ideal brewpub. On June 6, 2014 BentSpoke threw its doors open to overwhelming support from the local community. 3000 litres of beer was served in the first week. 2 years and several awards later, with over 300,000 litres and 50 different beers and cider brewed, BentSpoke is firmly cemented in the Australian beer scene.
On the back of this success and support from the community, BentSpoke has begun its next chapter with the construction of a production scale Brewery in Canberra's northern suburb of Mitchell. This will allow us to bring your favourite BentSpoke beers to your local pub, or bottleshop, ready for your next adventure. Get out there and bend a few spokes!

Jindabyne Brewing
5 Nettin Cct, Jindabyne NSW 2627
Jindabyne Brewing was founded in 2015 however the roots of the business go way back beyond that, Karl a ski instructor since age 18 obtained a passion for great food and beer in his travels around the world.
The beer part particularly was part of the the job really and after working in the Utah Colorado, Czech Republic, and Austria became inspired to recreate some of those great experiences in his home town of Jindabyne.
The family also loved working in the garden and whipping great food up at home with the fresh produce. This is when karl thought he give home brewing a go after he couldn’t afford to buy a case of beer after enjoying the ski life too much.
Each season at home we would host infamous parties at the family home in which Karl would invite instructor friends from all over the world cook up a feast with the folks and serve the beer he was making, the music gear was always set up in the corner of the living room for anyone who play anything and these parties grew and grew and people would eventually pay us to host their special occasions.
One day after a great day on the mountain and a hot tub on the balcony of the family home with a beer in hand the idea of making the same family friendly atmosphere with pints in one hand and food in the other came and Jindabyne brewing was born.
The parents remortgaged the house to raise the money once a suitable location was sourced and the brewery was setup In the heart of Jindabyne. So when you visit Jindabyne please stop by and experience the Jindabyne way of life!
TASTING NOTES...
Island Bend Pilzner - Inspired by travels through Europe and crafted with our local soft snowmelt water. Our Pilz has a spicy, earthy aroma of traditional Saaz hops followed by a bold malt flavour with a clean and dry finish. Perfect after a day of activities on the mountain… or anywhere for that matter!
Kiandra Golden Ale - Clean and fresh like the mountain air in the old goldfield town of Kiandra. We use Australian Vic Secret hops grown on the southern side of the range which gives our Golden Ale a fresh slightly fruity flavour and aroma. Vienna and Toffee malts then give it a golden glow worthy of a gold rush!
Alpine Red X - A new world dark lager, our Red is a little bit of everything – just like the weather in the mountains. It’s a little bit malty from full flavoured specialty malts and a little bit IPA from multiple doses of mosaic hops. It’s a little bit stronger, but still clean and dry making it a big bit more-ish!
Hefe Viess Bier - A day on the mountain anywhere in the world isn’t complete without a traditional German wheat beer. A thick creamy head stands proud with delicate banana and clove flavours bursting out of its sweet malt backbone. As they say… “When in Rome do as the romans do.” So, when in the mountains you should have a Veiss. And if you’re not, why not have one and dream about being there!
Tumut River Brewing Co
1 – 5 Capper St Tumut NSW 2720
https://www.trbc.com.au/
How exactly did we get here you might ask? Well it started as a business venture Tim basically decided the town and hopefully his pocket needed a micro brewery, (shallow I know, it gets better). Simon wanted in. As Tim had never brewed beer and Simon was a very casual brewer it was deemed necessary that Tim has a basic understanding of the brewing process.
At the same time Tim's world was getting complicated... As everything fell apart around them what started as a requirement to start a brewery became a passion that filled days and nights in the shed. Micro brewery plans were put to one side and life went on. We never stopped brewing! Our equipment grew, our knowledge blossomed, books were read courses attended and through the toughest times in our lives brewing was a constant. We created new beers, new flavours, we made beers that will never be repeated and some that never should have existed in the first place.
Years after our plans for world domination had ended and our brewery had been all but forgotten we realised that we had the tools, knowledge and passion to make this thing happen. Without knowing it was happening we had become beer activists, beer judges and most importantly quality craft beer brewers!
We will brew great beer, and we have seen this dream to the end. Tumut River Brewing Co is real!
TASTING NOTES...
Hitchhikers Guide to Galaxy Pale Ale - When producing an Australian pale ale single hopped with Australian Galaxy the nerd in us had to come out.Enter Hitchhikers Guide to Galaxy! Hitchhikers is a more complex beer than the flavour may lead you to believe but that’s the beauty of a well-designed complex beer, it’s not complex to drink. So the next time you find yourself trapped in the airlock of a ship in the Vogon constructor fleet, Don’t Panic, grab your towel, have a beer and prey that our infinite improbability drive manages to keep us from getting sued...
Full Grunt APA - Our Full Grunt APA is a fairly traditional American Pale Ale. Big hops, Big Bitter and a balanced malt profile. If you like big American Beers this should be right up your alley.
Bad Mofo IPA - The Bad Mofo is our take on a West Coast IPA. A big, American style ale which is fairly bitter at 80 IBUs and with large amounts of dry hops in fermentation for a crisp aromatic citrus hop hit which is balanced out by strong malt backbone. In brewing this beer, we mainly used Munich from Voyager Craft Malt in the Riverina region of NSW and some locally grown Rye corn for a unique rye malt taste. Predominant hops are US Mosaic and El Dorado. If you're into big, traditional IPAs - this is the bad mofo for you!
Man Goes Wild Gose - The year is 2020, a bat induced virus cripples humankind’s ability to function, toilet paper becomes the new global currency and newborns around the world are being graced with names such as Quarantina and Covid. This is not fiction.. man has gone wild.
In the midst of this, a beer that brings you the tropical flavours of mango and blood orange. Introducing “Man-Gose Wild”, for when you can’t travel to paradise!
Mocha Stout - We've been thinking about a coffee based stout for a while. We wanted to make a beer that would be creamy, dark, sweet and best enjoyed by the fire. We've used local malts by Voyager, our TRBC house roasted coffee and a dash of lactose for sweetness to end up with a smooth and easy drinking stout. So, if you've ever fantasised about a mocha latte/beer combination - this should be right up your alley!
