Pannepot is a flagship of our brewery. First brewed in 2003, it quickly grew into a beer that defined our bold brewing philosophy and put Struise on the map worldwide within the craft beer world.
At its core, Pannepot is a Belgian dark strong beer — powerful and impressive, but at the same time nicely balanced. It pours deep, opaque dark brown into the glass, topped with a creamy beige head. The beer has a subtle stout touch that adds soft toasted nuances without overpowering the richer Belgian character.
This is not a beer to drink carelessly; It is a beer to discover slowly. Aromas and flavours unfold in layers — from dark fruits, caramel and toffee to spices, roasted malt, coffee and subtle earthy notes. Notes of plum, fig and raisins often come to the fore, supported by a soft sugar touch and deep malt complexity, while a controlled bitterness and medium-full body provide a long, lasting presence on the palate.
Pannepot's style is rooted in the tradition of Belgian quadruples and dark strong ales, but with a distinct Struise twist: rich, complex and adventurous, meant to sip and contemplate quietly rather than drink quickly. With an alcohol content of around 10%, it adds a warming, slightly resinous depth that enthusiasts love.
Since 2004, Pannepot has been internationally acclaimed and has been ranked in the Top 100 best beers in the world year after year — a testament to its enduring quality, innovation and wide appreciation among beer connoisseurs.
Today, Pannepot is not just a beer — it's a symbol of Belgian craft creativity and the uncompromising spirit of our brewers, an invitation to enjoy something dark, rich, and truly unforgettable.
